When it comes to home furnishings, do you gravitate toward clean, simple looks or towards more formal, ornate furnishings? It's important that you are aware of your preferred decorating and basic style in your house. Whether you own or rent, you are in control of its appeal and appearance. First of all, let's determine exactly what makes your home a "special" place. It is your place of security... somewhere you go after work to relax (and stop the pretenses needed), somewhere you have chosen to grow memories (of loved ones or not), your "show and tell" place - whether you are displaying your car, pet, or any of your "toys", and maybe it's a place you never wish to leave...your future is here, too!

THE POINT IS THIS: "It must become you in order to bring you any benefit at at all."

According to society today, it is a reflection of your decorating and maintenance style and had better "show you off" or "display you" in a REAT OR GOOD light...and "great or good" is the absolute minimum! Like it or not, it is a reflection of who you are today and your future goals! If your place of occupancy is a mess, so must your life be. You had better "get your house in order" or forget about any future successes.

Remember, it's not what you SAY, but WHERE, HOW, and WHO you say it to that counts! And that means your decorating style, too!

Whether you are using your home to entertain or simply your own haven of privacy, others will see it. True, they may never be invited to the interior of your home, but that is simply a moot point. This is just another reason to prove that your home's exterior is important. Trust me...they will come and see it! And, they will judge you by it!

So, accept it and get on with your home's decor. Do not leave it blank...that will say that you are a dull person! Do not clutter it, regardless of style! That would say you are not an organized person.
