Southern India also has some famous national parks & wildlife sanctuaries such as Periyar Tiger Reserve in Kerala and Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park in Karnataka. Periyar is known for good population of Indian elephants. Herds of elephants easily spotted at this sanctuary. Bandipur also has good population of Indian elephants. Nagarhole has good population of tigers, Indian bison and Asian elephants.
