This is the reason in most of the parts of the world today; there has been law to make use of lead free soldering to escape from its harmful side effects on environment. As mentioned, lead free solder practice has been implemented because of the law that has been preformed around the globe. There has been a lot of steps that have been taken from WEEE(Waste from Electrical and Electronics Equipments) in support of lead free soldering technology. Due to this, there has been a huge rise in lead free solder practice.Earlier, the ratio of mixture was 63%tin and 37% lead which was a traditional method of soldering. However, according to the new law, one is only permitted to use even less than 1% of lead and also lead was never considered as a huge threat to the environment due to the fact that in some countries like UK there are a lot of important electronics equipments that used to be chucked out in landfill sites. Due to which there was a huge vexation that lead could percolate into the ground water materials due to which the use of lead was congested.

A shift to lead free solder processing is the best thing to do for the environment and for the industry as well. Such products are integrated not only in electronics but also in products like computers, white goods, brown goods, and telecommunication and so on. This proves that the effects are not only limited to the electronics industry but also to the other industries as well. The new method of doing lead free soldering is very interesting to the industry because it’s more beneficial and different to use. It’s been long time when the conventional methods of soldering were designed and the process only revolved around the use of tin lead solder.

On the other hand, now there is altogether a different technique that is used and it has been realized over the time that one solution will not be able to do all the work as there are different needs or there are different types of solder that are required to perform different tasks. From a manufacturer’s standpoint, it is possible that lead free solder process might not give a lot of benefits but some companies which are using green environmental friendly methods to manufacture which is one of the strong point when it come to sales. Therefore, as per the laws it is of great benefit to support the green approach of lead free soldering and environmentally friendly manufacturing methods.
