Have you ever considered that maybe your project is worth the attention of someone who knows how to use their voice well It's easy to assume that, just because you're putting together a small project, your project won't benefit from a voice actor, but that just isn't true. Voice-over artists work on more than just big-time commercials.
Let's take a look at some of the types of smaller projects you can get a professional for.
Podcasts. More and more corporations and business people are using podcasts to let others know what they have to offer. However, business moves at lightning speed these days, so this is no longer a new thing. Because it is no longer a new thing, listeners will no longer be impressed by low-budget broadcasts.
Professionals are using podcasts to let the world know about products and services, and that means your podcast has to be on par with theirs. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there. No matter what you're doing, a hundred thousand other people are doing it too. It isn't enough to do it better – you have to present it better.
Corporate and business videos. This means in-house presentations , and not only commercials. It should be obvious that your commercial – the little piece of you, you present to potential customers, which is supposed to convince them you are the best thing sinced sliced bread – should be as professionally made as possible.
However, there are loads of business people out there who choose to do it themselves. Don't be one of them. But you should also understand that you need to make an impression on your employees and providers as well as on your customers. You don't want your best people jumping ship for another company who gives them a more professional environment to work in. In-house videos you show your people are part of that environment. Let that be an opportunity to make them feel proud of the company they work for.
Telephone system recordings. It is amazing how often these little babies are overlooked when people work out their budget. Even if you have a smooth-as-glass operation, the voice on the line that people hear when they call your company can make or break you.
If you give callers a professional experience, which can be done by hiring a professional voice actor to record your outgoing messages, then callers will respect you more. It sounds like a little thing, but it can be huge. Do you want to be just another annoyance on someone's list, or do you want doing business with you to be like a respite from a tension-producing day? People go where it's pleasant. Make your business pleasant.
There are plenty of additional reasons smaller operations should use voice-over talent, but this will give you an idea of what they are. Your project probably falls in there somewhere, so be sure you consider your options before you make a decision. It's the little things that can make your plans run smoothly or throw a wrench into your plans.
