Oraverse is a reversal agent that we use to reverse the effect of local anesthetic after we finish certain procedures.
For example, in the past after a patient left the office, the numbness could last for 3 to 5 hours; now the effect of the anesthesia can be completed in less than one hour with the use of this product. Oraverse is fantabulous for it helps patients who need to get back to work or school earlier. It is given the same way just like a local anesthetic. It is a shot in the same location with the same amount of material. As you are already numbed, You won’t feel any pain.
Oraverse works as it increases the diameter of blood vessels in the area. The increase in blood flow removes the extra drug and takes it to the liver and the kidneys to be broken down.
Since the pain will return naturally when the anesthetic wears off, Oraverse is not for every procedure. If you just have a root canal or a tooth extracted, you may want the numbness lasting for a longer period of time, this would not be the appropriate procedure. If you are just having a traditional filling, the post-operative pain and sensitivity is going to be minimal, then the procedure is ideal. If you are interested in Oraverse, ask your dentist about it at your next dental visit.
Your teeth have to be customized to be the most appropriate. In our practice, we customize our treatment according to the needs of each patient. Our patients will receive the particular procedure and considerate care.
