In shared web hosting, many websites share same server. It means low cost but low speed too and no control. In managed hosting, a server is used for one website only. This means medium costs and high speed but less control. In co location web hosting, the website owns the server hardware but it is kept in the host’s are for better speed etc. It means high cost, high speed and total control. In reseller web hosting, a person rents the server and then rents it again to other people who think him as their web host. It means cheap cost, poor speed and forget control.
In managed hosting there are many advantages. When your website hosting will be managed by your web host, for you it will mean no worries. You wouldn’t have to worry about the uptime of your website and the other related problems. All these problems will be taken care of by the hosting company. It means that you can pay more attention to your main work. Now why opt for Managed Hosting? Why not get my own hosting using IPS etc. because this will mean hiring a whole new IT department to take care of your site. It is too much waste of time, man power and money.
As famous Chinese philosopher Confucius said that you should not use a bomb to kill a mosquito. Also, the hosting company will be a professional as they already have experience in this field. They will be capable of handling your web site and the traffic on it very easily and professionally. As they have a business to run out of this and also have to maintain their reputation, they will personally ensure that all the troubles are solved immediately so that you remain their happy and loyal customer.
The only disadvantage of the managed hosting is that it will be expensive for web sites which don’t have much regular traffic and you don’t have complete control. But if you have a large website with huge traffic, this option is best suited to you.
