The Beau’s Line fingernail disease, as per experts, symbolizes malnutrition. These lines grow out with normal formation of nails. The Beau’s lines are characterized by certain symptoms. However, the disease cannot be reversed but can, surely, be relieved depending on your individual condition.
Symptoms of Beau’s Line
The primarily visible symptoms of Beau’s Line include a change in the appearance of nails with ridges or indentations in the nail plate. Besides, this fingernail disease is also characterized by transverse depression of nails appearing at the bottom of lunula as a result of temporary interruption in formation of nails by a stressful event. In a new born, this fingernail disease might appear as a normal condition which usually vanishes in the very first month of birth. The symptoms of Beau’s Line are characterized by longitudinal lines till the nail grows out of the concerned area and is cut out. This Beau’s Line develops distally with normal growth of nails and ultimately fades away at the free edge. Other symptoms of Beau’s Line include transverse grooves on fingernails, wrist mobilization, and unilateral lines.
Treatment of Beau’s Line
The Beau’s Line fingernail disease does not have any specific treatment. However, you can try on getting some medical relief according to your individual condition. There are certain points of care that can be counted as a treatment of Beau’s Line. These include:
1.Give a 15 minute hand soak oil bath too your nails and cut the brittle nails thereafter.
2.Moisturize your nails thoroughly after every wash, especially the nails and the cuticles and cover them with cotton gloves.
3.As a part of treatment of Beau’s Line, avoid using nail polish removers containing acetone as it dries the nails. Also, removers should not be used more than twice a month.
4.It is also advisable to keep the nails short and also use a nail hardener as the Beau’s Lines would split your nails with growth of nails.
These points of care, if taken as a treatment of Beau’s Line, can benefit you but if the problem still persists, it is better to consult a physician immediately.
