Rajasthan has several places like Jaipur, Udaipur, Ranthambhore, Bikaner and Jaisalmer etc. where you would be amazed by the architecture of the forts. Jaipur is famous for Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar observatory and Amer fort. There are several lakes in Rajasthan and one can relish the boating experience. Mount Abu is a hill station where you can enjoy boating in the Nakkhi Lake and the Delwara Jain temple is one of its kind in entire India. The Jain temples at Chittorgarh fort and the Ranakpur Jain temple complex are examples of beautiful architecture and one finds the atmosphere conducive for spiritual activities. Bikaner has excellent examples of architecture in the form of Havelis, temples and mosques. Camel ride is a favorite pastime for tourists.
Those interested in wildlife viewing would appreciate the Bharatpur bird sanctuary that is a vacation place for several species of birds from all over the world. Ranthambhore also has a wildlife sanctuary and you would really be enticed by the natural beauty around. Ajmer is famous for the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and Pushkar town located nearby is the only place in India where the creator of the world as per Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma is worshipped. There is a beautiful lake here too. The lake palace, Saheliyon Ki Bari garden and open-air puppet theatre of Udaipur are world famous. Don’t forget to watch a show in the puppet theatre.
Shree Nathji, a form of Lord Krishna is revered a lot in Rajasthan and a temple dedicated to this deity is present in Nathdwara near Udaipur. The temple has a magnificent idol of Lord Krishna with a diamond in its chin. The mob and the fame of this temple rank next to that of Tirupati Balaji in Andhra Pradesh.
The ghoomer dance and kalbeliya dance are a major point of attraction for tourists. The sleek dance movements and the acrobatics involved therein leave everyone awe-struck. The foodscape of Rajasthan is exclusive because of the unique ingredients and the aroma the recipes have. Both Non vegetarians and vegetarians love the Rajasthani platter. The sweet malpuas really steal the show and have the capability to water anybody’s mouth the second time they hear of this recipe.
