Like with all promotional items, the first thing you want to consider when using a promotional clock in your marketing campaign is to decide what your target audience is and how you expect them to react to your promotional item. If you do not expect them to hang on to your promotional clocks for any extended period of time than you'll probably want to spend less on the clock and just treat it as an amusing curiosity that your client will probably chuckle over for a few minutes and then cast aside. If however you expect your clients to hold onto the clocks for a while, perhaps even hanging them up in their office or warehouses then you'll want to spend more time thinking about promotional clocks in a marketing campaign and how to best design them to be both attractive and inexpensive to mass produce.
If you're going for the cheap promotional clock in a marketing campaign and you'll definitely want to consider a small digital package perhaps an alarm clock, timer, or wristwatch. These small LCD units are incredibly inexpensive and easy to stick into almost any form factor. This means that you will have the ability to create cheap injection molded plastic promotional clocks for use in your marketing campaign. Be warned however that these clocks will look as cheap as you know they are, so unless you are willing to spend a little bit more for quality plastic molds there is a chance you may be disappointed.
If however you are looking for a more upscale and classy image for your promotional clocks in your marketing campaign that you'll probably want to use an analog style lock with moving hands. Contrary to popular belief analogue does not mean old and dull, rather an analog promotional clock can be as exciting as you or your designer imagined. While it is true that the traditional circular clock will always be the most popular you should not feel that you need to discount unusual or novelty shapes for your promotional clocks. After all you are using promotional clocks in a marketing campaign; the idea is to catch people's attention and raise eyebrows, not design an object so plain and bland that their eyes travel right over it without noticing that they are even looking at your promotional clock.
