A simple way to use your coupons more effectively to get the most out of them.

Grocery coupons can save your family a lot of money but sometimes you have to use them creatively to maximize your savings. Some might say it’s cheating but I still feel I am paying a fair price for the overpriced products. If you can’t stand taking a few pennies from a large food manufacturer don’t read any further if you want to maximize your savings read on.

Most grocery chains (large ones) don’t even look at the coupons you have and they will all ring through thier system like clockwork. So do the following.

Use coupons on smaller quantities. For example if you have a coupon for $.75 off two bags of kraft shredded cheese. Buy one bag of shredded cheese and you will get more off of the single bag then you would have off the two.

Use coupons for similar products. For example, my daughter eats lots of yogurt (she prefers danimals) I cut out all the coupons for yogurt whether it’s danimals, go-gurt or some other similar product. Then I go to the store and if I buy yogurt I use a yogurt coupon whether it’s the same brand or not.

Throw at least 2 $1 off coupons in for every $20 you plan to buy. If you spend $60, this is $6 right off the top before you even get to your other coupons. Again, find simple products that are $1 or more off and mix those in with your other coupons.

Expiring coupons each time before you go to the store check your expired coupons, whatever is about to expire try to use. If you need that product (or something similar) great if not, throw a couple of the about to expire coupons into the mix as well.

Maximize with store sales. For example this week my local Jewel has 3/$5 Frozen Vegetables. So I have a coupon for $1 off 3 Del Monte Frozen Vegetables, I will use that on the store brand and get 3 big bags of vegetables for $4.

Maximize on BOGO deals. If it’s something you use alot of whether you need it or not buy it when it’s BOGO it will save you money down the road.

You can save alot of money on your grocery bill implementing these simple tricks.
