A Good Invention
The invention of the credit card was a great solution to many, for various reasons. It avoided carrying cash around and little snags like finding change when payments were not done with the exact amount. You could even buy stuff two days before payday, as if you had the money on you. And no cash could be stolen from you, as well!
But Then Came The Counterpart
Another good invention of mankind is interest: The price of using other people’s money. So, you went out with your credit card in your wallet and started buying stuff that you would pay in the future, refinancing month after month until you got the awful surprise one day that your debt was beyond your possibilities.
Trouble On Both Sides Of The Counter
YOU obviously get into trouble because you can not use it any more, or at least until you pay every cent in your balance. THEY get into trouble because there is always a risk of not being able to collect the debt, ever again.
So, What IS Good Use Of A Credit Card?
There are a couple of conveniences. That is, only to buy what you will be able to pay at the end of the month and leave your balance at zero. This means distributing your purchases between cash and plastic in order to break even.
The other great convenience is to buy on credit when the DEALER is giving you this credit, not the card. Credit card interests are enormously high, compared to other types of transaction, so better pay only what is inevitable, that is, the fee for the use of the card.
Automatic Debit
This is another convenience of the little plastic slip. Your bills and taxes can be paid without having to either carry cash or even worrying to get it done.
And The Result?
So, the dealer is financing the purchase and will only charge your card when the payment is due, enabling you to pay the outstanding balance of the card, without the pending debt of the purchase.
Is It Clear Enough?
The dealer charges the installments one at a time and this way you always pay off your monthly credit card debt. Taking this into consideration, you will always have good records, a good situation at the end of the month and the convenience of being able to use your credit card constantly, improving your credit rating for any situation in the future.
Take No Notice Of The Wise Guys
There are wise guys who claim to know how to crack the credit card system. Believe me, they do not! They say that they use several cards, with one paying for the other and so on, but do not fall for it. It will get you in trouble before the rooster crows at dawn, tomorrow.
Some “How To…” Reports
There are reports going around on Internet that “teach” you how to raise half a million dollars worth of credit with your normal everyday credit cards. Pity you can not see them… or you’d spot the black patch over their left eye.
And remember. If you need credit, get a loan. If you want to avoid going around with cash and get the benefit of a couple of other conditions, the credit card is your best bet.
