L80 library supports the top ranking tape formats including SDLT tape and LTO tape technologies. The supported versions of SDLT and LTO formats are SDLT-2 (SDLT-600), SDLT-1 (SDLT-320), LTO-3, LTO2 and LTO1 tape. Oracle has increased the slots for drive and cartridges to provide greater storage capacity. Now the customers can install 1-8 drives and up to 80 backup tape cartridges. You can either use 1 to 8 LTO1, LTO2 and LTO3 drives, or install 1-8 SDLT-600 and SDLT-320 drives. A combination of SDLT-600 and SDLT-320 drives can also be used.

LTO is an open standard; therefore you can confidently use any brand of LTO cartridge and perform your backup operations with all LTO ultrium drives.
