The basis for choosing a comforter set depends on the type of fabric and design. Here are a few types of comforter sets that you can choose from:
Organic Comforter Set: An organic comforter set is made of all-natural fibers like wool. They are perfect for people who suffer from respiratory problems and allergies, making it a preferred choice. If you are an active environmental enthusiast, an organic comforter set is ideal for you. The organic material is good for the environment as there are no toxic chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
Hypoallergenic Comforter Set: These may be made from synthetic or natural fibers. The materials commonly used to make hypoallergenic comforters and bed pillows are a cotton blend, polyester fiber fill and goose down. But down feathers need to be treated before use, as they can trigger allergies in sensitive individuals.
Silk Comforter Set: Materials like satin, silk and faux silk are great for a plush, luxurious-looking comforter set. Not only do they enhance your bedroom décor but feel very smooth and comforting against the skin. Comforter sets and bed pillows are also available with a silk filling inside a cotton shell. This kind of pillow and comforter is made with long floss silk fibers inserted into a pure cotton shell. This also helps the silk bedding last longer.
Flannel Comforter Set: Flannel is the most popular choice for bedding material and it gives that homey, lived-in feel. Flannel is durable, softens with every wash and is easy to launder. Made of 100 percent cotton flannel, the warm and cozy bedding is perfect for the winter months. There is also reversible flannel bedding available, usually in solid and plaid designs.
Lastly, the colors and designs available are endless and you can find something suitable to your personality and room décor in every material. Remember that a well-chosen comforter set can dramatically add to the look of any room.
