Himachal Pradesh is an ecstasy for adventure freaks and offers a bonanza for them. Himachal Trekking holds the promise of a deep and refreshing connection with nature and its beauty. The lush river valleys, snow-capped peaks, fruit-laden orchards, gurgling streams and the dense forests evoke charm and glee.

There are four mountain ranges running almost parallel to one another in Himachal Pradesh and thus create charming and beautiful passes for trekking. These mountain ranges are: The Dhaula Dhar, Pir Panjal, Himalayas and Zanskar. Closer to the Zanskar range one is faced with the bare landscape of desolate tracts.

Copious of passes on these ranges connect the valleys. One can cross one pass and return over the other or proceed further to cross another on the next range.

Famous Himachal Treks and Ranges are:

Kinner Kailash Trek- Mount Kinner Kailash is located in Kinnaur Valley of Himachal Pradesh and is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. The trek is challenging and also rewarding for experienced trekkers.

Pin Parvati Pass Trek- This trek is considered to be the most beautiful in the region. The view from the pass is complemented with the snow clad peaks of Kullu valley and the infertility of the Spiti Mountains.

Chandratal Trek- Named after the lake Chandratal is considered to be the most challenging and interesting trek of the region. The trek passes through alpine plateau, green meadows, and waterfalls, valleys with wild flowers, glaciers and wild rivers. The lake, chandratal, hypnotizes with its various colors and is like an elf in the great Himalayan setting.

Mani Mahesh Lake trek- Also known by the name of Chamba Kailash, this lake is in the Manimahesh peak. It is a combination of Adventure& Religion. This trek gains importance during the Mani Mahesh Yatra which happens after the festival of Janmashtami. Apart from the religious fervor, the steep hills and rippling springs arrest the perception of the travelers.

Thus there are ample of options for trekking in Himachal which give an eye catching experience to the trekkers.

Every grade of treks is available in Himachal Pradesh. The land of many facets, trekking in Himachal hold mysteries in their laps for the adventure freaks to unfold. Glacier line (Permanent snow line) is a lot closer in Himachal than anywhere else in Himalayas. Himachal Trekking is thus a delightful experience as one gets to see a wide spectrum of the landscapes.
