It would also help if you had a map with you so can check if you're going in the right direction. You can usually get this at the airport.

Transportation is essential when you're traveling. You can always take the local transportation. The only problem is that most drivers take advantage of tourists, hiking the rates to unreasonable prices. To counter this, do your research. Look for the most common transportation services in the area, and what their regular rates are. This way, you'll know how to bargain. Also, keep in mind that you'll have to speak to the drivers in their language. Buying a translation book will help you say the basics when you're already there. Make sure that you know the exact address of the hotel so the driver doesn't get confused.

Alternatively, if you have a little extra cash, you can get a rented limousine to pick you up from the airport and get you to the hotel. For some, this is their preferred method of transportation, as you can rent the limo for the entire trip. It might cost you more, but if you're looking for something extravagant, you should definitely try it out.
