One of the old conventional methods of getting generating business opportunity leads or prospecting leads is cold calling. This method involves trying to contact people who you have probably never met before or who you got from a purchased list. The first problem with this form of marketing for your home based business opportunity is the list. The list was probably sold to a number of people and is thus likely to have been overworked.
The people are usually already tired of receiving calls trying to convince them to get involved with a program or purchase a product. Even when you get names from the yellow pages there are a lot of things and factors you cannot control. For example you cannot determine the mood or state of the person you are trying to call at that particular time and you cannot be certain that the person needs your product or falls under your target market.
Another old traditional method of prospecting leads is mass emailing. This is heavily frowned out as spam, and hurts your credibility. No seasoned online network marketer will like to be labeled a spammer. When you send mass mails they either end up in the junk or spam folder or get deleted without even the receiver actually opening to read it.
Besides when too many people complain of your website as being a source of spam mails your website can be banned ruining your years of work. Spam mails might work for some, but the odds are great, the possibility little and the damage on your credibility very high. Other old forms of prospecting like barging your associates, family and friend constantly might only get you rejections and loss of friendship when people start avoiding you.
New emerging trends demand that more subtle and adaptive methods are used. When you want business opportunity leads or seek to promote your home based business opportunity, you can do it more effectively online. Effective online lead generation methods allow you to better target and attract the right prospects and leads.
First you have to define your niche or industry. Then you have to identify your primary target market and then identify their problems and desires. When you have created a product that solves their needs you are ready to go. Offer free relevant and quality information via blogs, ezines and other means. Give out free things related to your niche and products.
That way only your target audience is attracted. When you offer free quality info, you will get them to keep coming back for more. Get their information using a squeeze page and build a relationship with them. You will have more prospects seeking you out for more information. Gradually using your newsletters and sustaining a relationship with them it is easier to convert them to customers or down-line members. This is just one way of getting quality target prospects online.
