Working online is a way to be free, but one can be overwhelmed by the amount of messages he receive on a daily basis. The telephone is not used to communicate as it is offline. Instead of that, the email is widely used. For instance, when you subscribe to a new service, or when you make purchase. Sometime, you are just curious about an offer, but immediately after you filled in the opt in form, be ready to see an avalanche of emails arrive directly in your mailbox.
Beside that, you receive messages from family, friends, workmate or classmate. Those message are important, and no one want to loose or delete them accidentally. Also, sometimes, a special offer will be forwarded to you, with a deadline( it is the time frame of the offer; after that date, the price will raise, or the offer won-t be available to the public...), and it can be something you don-t want to miss out on. You will subscribe to newsletter or e-zines... That can lead to tons of mails every weeks. Suppose you take three weeks of break without opening your inbox, what a bad surprise you will have when coming back.
The first mistake to avoid is to think that if you have one email account with a big storage, like at yahoo.com (with 1gb) or G mail(with 2gb), you can handle all your messages. It is true that 1gb is more that you need to receive all your messages, but you will not be able to know with a glance at your screen, which message is going in which folder.
It is recommended to open different free email accounts to organize yourself. For instance, you can receive your personal message with yahoo mail. For your website, if you have one, you can set up an email account within your c panel; you will have all the explanation provided. If you still need help, you can ask to your webmaster. Open another separate account to register to your articles directories websites. Like that, when you receive confirmation email, or offers from these article sites, you have everything in one place. Open also a separate account dedicated to marketing and email researches; when you subscribe to an opt in list only to make some researches, to improve your email campaign or find new ideas for your marketing strategies, or just to see the new trend on the web.
Others use safelists, the oldest opt in list system or announcement groups to advertise, and free emails won-t allow them sometimes to receive thousands of messages every week. For those marketers, a paid mailbox is recommended; otherwise, they will be suspended from the safelists sites because they do not tolerate bounces. Some ISPs, like yahoo, msn, hotmail and others are banned by the different safelists as they are known to filter commercial messages. There is a lot of paid account called friendly safelists as they have been created with the purpose of receiving thousands of mails a week. You can see myfastmail.com or moomia.com. You can have more than 10mb of storage for free, and upgrade after if you need to.
The rule is: if you know that you will receive a lot of emails in return for a service you work with... Open a new account. That will keep your primary email inbox clean.
