Before applying for nurse jobs of this kind, you have to ask the agency how often you will receive your checks as you may get paid weekly, bi-weekly or monthly or when a particular project gets completed. You can also contact other travel nurses employed by the agency to find out the payment plan of the agency and is it reliable enough to pay the nurses on time. You should choose the agency only if other nurses are satisfied working with it.
Before applying for these nurse jobs, also find out if the agency gets frequent projects to distribute or not. Some agencies have projects enough to keep the nurses busy throughout the year while if the agency does not receive enough projects, the nurses will have to sit idle for long times which may or may not be beneficial for you and can stop your growth in the career graph.
Try to find out the travel expenses policy of the travel nursing agency while distributing the travel nursing jobs. Some agencies may pay these expenses to the nurses while others may deduct the traveling costs from the salaries of the nurses. Some agencies also provide traveling allowance to the nurses or they may provide a limited amount of money as travel expenses. The additional costs are to be borne by the nurses themselves.
Before applying for travel nursing jobs by a particular travel nursing agency, make sure that the living arrangements made by the agency are comfortable enough for the nurses. Most agencies arrange for the living of the nurses while others require the nurses to make their own arrangements. Also find out if the agency pays for the housing options or not.
