Cachexia, which is a significant amount of weight loss, muscle tissue loss, loss of appetite, and loss of strength.

Abdominal swelling and pain due to fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Problems with bowel functions.

Chest pain.

Cough.

Irregular heart beat and irregular breathing patterns.

How is Mesothelioma Spread?

Fortunately, mesothelioma is not contagious, and can only be contracted by way of exposure to asbestos.

How Many Types of Mesothelioma is There?

There are basically 3 types of mesothelioma:

Pleural Mesothelioma - Most common.
Peritoneal Mesothelioma - Second most common.
Pericardial Mesothelioma - Least common.

How is Mesothelioma Treated?

Typically, treatment for mesothelioma depends on where the cancer actually is developed, the stage of the disease, and how old and healthy the patient is. But generally, like many other cancers, treatment for mesothelioma cancer include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or a mixture of all three.

Is Mesothelioma Curable?

As of this writing, there is no cure for mesothelioma other than hope, and a strong fight. Although most mesothelioma patients do not live much longer than 12 months after diagnosis, some have lived upwards of 18 months. Treatment may ease the pain, and prolong the life of some patients, but as of right now, there is no cure.
