Just do it, as the Nike' logotype, it has been familiar by nearly every person, no matter where you are. For either the kids, or old people, Nike shoes are not strange. The above situations manifest the success of Nike and Nike is absolutely a great company comparing to Adidas.
Nike shoes are worn nearly by all NBA stars including those famous ones like Jordan and Kobe, in addition, when it comes to the football field, the players also tend to wear Nike sheos more instead of Adidas. As to the field of skateboarding, Nike also has the special shoes, say, Nike SB. And right now Nike golf shoes are also developed by Nike company. Thus, in this way, gradually, Nike will grow up the number one company. Nevertheless, Nike also experiences some difficulties in its developing course.

Bill Bowerman was a track coach in University of Oregon, and Phil Knight, a middle-distance runner. In 1964, this two people reached an informal agreement and set up the later Nike company. These two people endowed this company with the name Blue Ribbon Sports and began their business in the U.S. by importing running shoes of Onitsuka Tiger which was a Japanese brand and now is called ASICs.

In the year of 1967, Knight and Bowerman made a formal agreement, then a register BRS Inc came into the world. This company then employed Jeff Johnson as the first full-time salesperson in 1965 and began to sell the first series of Blue Ribbon Sports' products by this channel in 1966. in 1971, the company benefited a lot from Johnson: one night, Johnson had a dream, and in the dream, Nike, the Greek goddess of victory appeared. Later, his bosses got a suggestion of this name from him. Then Nike, instead the Dimension 6, a name thought out by Knight, was chosen as the name of this company's the first shoes which was a soccer cleat and marked by the Swoosh.

As to the design of the Swoosh trademark, this should attribute to Carolyn Davidson. As a college student in Portland State University, her major was graphic-design. By this design, she earned thirty-five dollars.

Bowerman attempted to design rubber spikes to the athletic shoes in order to expand the business. Bowerman first got some liquid rubber in his wife's waffle iron, then an innovative running-shoe sole appeared. In this way, Bowerman made it. The company then launched Nike "Moon Shoes". These shoes were endowed with the waffle sole. In 1972, when the players competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore, they all had these shoes on feet. Then Nike made a series of shoes with the waffle outsole. The Waffle Racer, Air Force One and Nike Air Max 97 can be said to be the most well-known among these shoes.

Nike shoes were worn by more and more famous athletes. Mark Covert was a runner, when he competed, he chose to wear Nike shoes, and won the game. He could be said the first athlete to do that.
