The Right Affiliate Program For You

Are you thinking of starting a work from home business? Is this your first entrepreneurial adventure? Are you confused and overwhelmed by all the options? Do you desperately want to make some extra money, but don’t know where to start? You’re not alone!

I have tried several “ work from home business opportunities”. Most have been some sort of affiliate program, or MLM, and most have been a total bust. I'm not going to come right out and name the programs that didn’t work for me, and I’ll tell you why. Although I did not find success in certain programs, I did meet people who had. Real, ordinary people just like you and I. That is in all but one program, which just so happens rhymes with bamway. But I digress… I didn’t want to give up however. I realize now that those programs just were not right for me. I have finally found one that is perfect for me, and I am very excited about it. And, yes, it is making me money!

Before I tell you what worked for me, I’d just like to clear up a couple of myths about affiliate programs, or MLM’s.

1. You should never have to pay a fee.

Nonsense! Most affiliate programs, or MLM’s are just like a franchise. Look at it this way. Let’s say you wanted to start your own McDonald’s franchise. Do you think you could walk into corporate and say “Hello, my name is so and so, and I would like to start a McDonald’s franchise. I don’t however have any money, so what do you say you let me start the restaurant and I’ll pay for it after I make a bunch of money.” Enough said.

2. The company should be operational for 3 to 5 years or it’s too risky.

Although there is merit to this philosophy, it has it’s drawbacks. If indeed it is an MLM, wouldn’t it make sense to get in early? There are plenty of affiliate systems that have simply become saturated with affiliate marketers. At this point the only ones making money are the top dogs, so to speak. As far as risk is concerned, starting any business has inherent risks. It’s unavoidable! YOU have to do the work, no-one is going to do it for you.

3. You should only sell something people need.

Are you kidding? Do you need a car that only gets 16 miles to the gallon? Do you need a 52” TV? Do you need 12 pairs of shoes? People buy things that they want. What’s life without a bit of indulgence?

So, what worked for me you ask?
