Giving out promotional pens during seminars, sales calls, conferences and other events that your company would engage into is one of the best marketing strategies that you can do to create a brand name recall for your products, services. However, some marketing heads might have a bit of difficulty as to what ink color their promotional pens should have. Should it be black, blue or red?
Is your promotional pen's ink color important?

The very reason why you have considered giving away promotional pens as a way of boosting your sales is that you expect that each pen will be kept and used by a prospective client for a long period of time and may be able to share it with another person; thus, creating a 'viral' marketing effect.

The ink color of your promotional pen will determine the amount of time a person will spend time to use your promotional pen for scribbling notes and signing documents. Only when the right color for your pen is chosen that you can expect the viral marketing to work.

Go black
One of the most favorite ink colors for promotional pens is black. This color is considered as the most standard color for a pen. With this ink color, you can expect your pen to be used and be shared with anybody, anytime, anywhere. You can never go wrong with black ink. This is the perfect choice if your target market is professionals and those who would regularly need a pen for affixing signatures.

Blue as an alternative
The next best ink color for your promotional pens is blue. Blue is more casual, more attuned to the needs of those who would want a standard ink color, yet away from the usual black ink color. A promotional pen in blue ink is the best choice for businesses with a younger market base, say college students, yuppies and young entrepreneurs.

Should you go bloody red?
Right now, you might not even consider having your promotional pens in red ink. You would rather have them in either black or blue to be on the safe side. However, there are some instances wherein you need to go red and nothing but red.

Red is the way to go if your market is educators and accountants. These people, although are more know to be pencil users, will have a great need for red pens when checking examinations and correcting an audit report. Also, red is your only choice if your market is writers and editors. Your red promotional pens will be used as edit markers.

Aside from the foregoing, there are other ink colors for your promotional pens that you can choose from. You can go funky and opt for violet, green or pink. However, investing in these non-standard colors are quite risky. Your promotional pens might end up unused or worse, thrown in the wastebasket because their ink color cannot be of use. Just always think of usability when choosing for the perfect ink color for your promotional pens. With this in mind and your customers, you will never go wrong.
