This Sunday night at Gillette Stadium, Peyton Manning brings the Indianapolis Colts to face the New England Patriots in a midseason showdown between the AFC's top two teams. This is the second year in a row that the Indianapolis Colts bring a 7-0 season record into Foxborough. Last November, Manning delivered a 321-yard, three-touchdown performance at quarterback, and Indianapolis came through with an impressive 40-21 victory over the defending world champion the Patriots.

We are predicting a great game, just take a look at the facts, last Sunday Manning completed 32-of-39 passes for 345 yards and three scores to lead Indy to a thrilling 34-31 win at Denver, the team which handed New England its lone defeat of the season back in Week 3. Indianapolis pulled out last week's game with the Broncos on a 37-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri with two seconds remaining.

If we go by their history the Patriots hold a 41-25 edge in their all-time regular season series with the Colts, and had scored seven consecutive regular season home wins and four straight regular season victories over Indy prior to last season's loss. New England was a 27-24 home winner in Week 1 of the 2004 season. In addition to the regular season series, the teams met in the playoffs in both 2003 and 2004, with New England taking both a 24-14 decision in the '03 AFC Championship and a 20-3 triumph in an '04 AFC Divisional Playoff.

In the present season the Colts have jumped every obstacle so far, it was remarkable the way Manning and the rest of the team pulled apart a Denver defense that had been barely together leading up to last week's dare. But we cannot forget the Patriots’ offense, since they have been practicing so hard and with their last matches they have shown us that they can strike through air or ground. We cannot forget Indianapolis was successful in this very same scenario a year ago, but this is a better New England team than last year's and the Colts aren't as good as their 2005 squad, which could actually play some defense. The Patriots and Brady rarely disappoint in big-game situations like this one, and New England's edge on defense and home field will prove to be the difference. So we will just have to wait.
