One of the greatest gaming gears in the world is undoubtedly the Xbox 360. The quality of its graphics and the complex nature of the game show us how much computing power is housed within this small console. It is much more powerful than what an average personal computer was ten years ago. But all this power that the console possesses does have a side effect and it can prove quite harmful to the device.
The side effect is the heat that is produced from the console, a very enemy of the console itself. We can’t be sure whether it is a design error or the problem of placement of machine when it is being used. These consoles have a lot of problem dispelling the heat that is built in within the console that usually has quite a harmful effect on the hardware. This condition usually ends up in the dangerous ‘Red Ring of Death’ and sometimes it even happens even if you play games on the console even for a short period of time.
You can tell when a ‘Red Ring of Death’ situation happens, by looking on the light on the front of the console. The lights are usually green but when it turns red you can say the ‘Red Ring of Death’ has happened. The number of lights glowing tells you the complexity of the problem and its possible causes. The most harmless is when all 4 lights show red, this is an indication that the AV cable is either disconnected or loose. You can solve this by just switching off the console and the power and then just reconnecting all the AV cable.
The condition you wouldn’t want ending up in would be when there is 1 or 3 red lights glowing. This is an indication that the hardware of the device has failed, which usually happens due to the excess heat that has been building up inside the console and which has the ability to harm the internal components. In a few cases completely switching off the device and letting it cool down in an open place for a considerable amount of time can get the console back into life. But that is not usually the cases, most of the console usually have to be sent to Microsoft for inspection and repairs.
If the warranty period of your console has lapsed or if the original warranty only covered the first ninety days, then don’t panic. You could very well repair the console all by yourself; all you need is the right guide and information. You would not need to spend a lot of money sending the console for repairs and then wait for weeks and at times even months before it returns to you, for an error that shouldn’t have taken place at all. And even if you have sent it for repairs there is no guarantee what so ever that the console will be a 100% when it returns.
