Food and drink vending machines - often referred to as ‘snack vending machines’ – were produced in the 1970’s. Inside the glass fronted machines packets of sweets and cans of drinks were ready to drop when bought by tempted consumers.
Over the years vending machines have come a long way.
Technology has made it possible so that consumers can now purchase almost anything from vending machines using cash or credit cards. Some of the more strange items available include: gold, socks, IPods, swimming shorts and umbrellas.
However one of the most common is food and drink.
With their compact design vending machines provide venues with the possibility of providing food and drink to consumers with very little effort. They provide snacks for on-the-go people, eliminate the need to have a member of staff in charge of the ‘shop’, offer secure payment methods and even give change.
However one of the frustrations for consumers is when the machines themselves don’t work. Because of advancements in technology this is becoming less frequent, however it is important to ensure that a high level of service is provided by the vending machine repairer.
Vending machines have changed drastically since first arriving in 215BC, even being used in marketing campaigns, however they still offer an excellent opportunity to consumers is they want to purchase something quickly and efficiently.
