Cause

Solution

To fix such issues, you need to enable the file and hence remove it from the list of disabled files:

• In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, you need to click Microsoft Office Button and click Microsoft Excel Options and then Add-ins tab. You can then select the Disabled Items of Manage list. Click Go and opt for the affected file and click Enable.

You can then try opening the file. If the file still doesn’t open, it might be corrupted. Thus, if a valid and clean file backup is available, use it to restore the file. But if you don’t have any valid backup, you can use commercial excel repair applications.
