No one knows your business better than you do; after all it is your vision that made it all happen. And translating this business, this vision, should not be troublesome at all. Whether to hire a graphic design firm or to download a template from a Los Angeles online printing company – all you need to be sure of is that the design concepts translate your business identity to print.

Creating aesthetically pleasing designs is easy, making one that is meaningful to your business requires more work. If you have enough perceptive, you should be able to tell intuitively which designs represent the values of your business.

The Elementary of Design

Understanding the basics of design may give you more insight you can use to advise your designer, or choose your templates.

1. Cool or Warm?
There are different color schemes you can use to give your business a definitive personality.

• Although these colors can work in a multiple ways to create diverse meanings. Accordingly, arm colors go from red to yellow in the color wheel, while cool colors range from green to purple. Warm colors in general tend to be more striking and active while cool colors tend to recede and be more passive.

• Colors have complex meanings and can be used in a variety of ways. There are no hard and fast rules, but generally speaking, warm colors appeal to the senses while cool colors appeal to the intellect.

2. Do the Balancing Act
Like physical objects, our eyes give visual objects certain weight values. Colors, shadings, and size are context clues we use to ascertain weight. Design balance means distributing the weight throughout the page to achieve a sense of stability.

• Symmetrical balance creates a mirror image where the elements in one side should also be found in the other side. Asymmetrical balance on the other hand uses different elements but uses other clues to make their perceived weight balanced. A large object in the left side for instance can be balanced off with many smaller objects on the right side.

• Like parallel lines that can go on forever, symmetrical balance gives you a feeling of stability and consistency. Asymmetrical balance on the other hand renders more unpredictability to your design and gives it a more dynamic and active feel.

Notes on Design

Although there are more design concepts you can use to make your prints more interesting, these two are the most potent in creating your brand image. It should help you choose a template when there’s so many of them to choose from.

1. With colors and balance, you can help determine the best way to maximize space.
2. You can readily determine a room where to put your text and what colors would give it better contrast.
3. You can the right images that would go with the design or the template.
4. You can choose a dominant color based on warm and cool colors and let it guide you in selecting a template.
5. Combine a symmetrical balance with an active color scheme to give a more toned down look, or use an asymmetrical balance with your cool color scheme to make it more interesting.
6. And you can easily add or delete objects in your design to help you achieve the right balance, color scheme and theme.

You can determine what you want to communicate in your design. Work with your designer better too with this information in mind. Or be guided accordingly when choosing a template from any Los Angeles online printing to obtaining the design and print you want.
