Cross steps are important. Take your right foot as a central foot. You should make your feet separate, and bend your knees. Lower your body's center and put the ball on your chest. The first one is to lower your center. Please attention. You are not bending the waist. It is to bend your knees, not to bend down your waist. Some actions are aided. As a professional, it is necessary for you to raise your head, lift your shoulder and up your elbow.
The second are ordinary step and cross step. These two steps are most essential foot works. Ordinary step refers that you stride your anterior foot. However, cross step is opposite to it. Speed is very important for an ordinary step. Your body's center is your anterior foot. This is very pivotal. Now your foot is like a compressed spring. You must rush out. But it has an advantage.
We can not protect our ball. If your defender is strong enough, you will be failed. Cross step is unlike to ordinary step. You must stride your back foot. Because you stride your back foot, you maybe become slower. However, once you moved this foot, you would stop the enemies. These two steps have different functions. You should change your choice when you face different situations.
The third one is the order. It is especially important. You must lean your body and stop the opponents. You just protect the ball from your rivals. Certainly if you play street ball, you can be exceptional. But some basic principle must be followed.
The fourth one is feint. That is necessary. Here I want to mention the key point. When you do deceptive movement, you must be sure that you can shift your body freely. But if your opponent is very not so good, you need to worry. You need not my advices.
In fact, speed and rhythm are most important. If your speed is enough fast, you will be successful. If you want to increase your tempo and rhythm, you had better exercise your cross step. These basic skills are very useful. So you can try to improve your level through these steps.
