Teacher appreciation day is the day everyone looks forward to the most as students can give their teacher presents to show their gratitude for all their help over the academic year. A popular idea is to buy the teachers chocolates or flowers but these ideas are becoming a thing of the past and students are opting to go down the more personal and creative route. For example students are making their own gifts and personalising them as their own way of saying thank-you. This day is also particularly special as students use this day to organise special events such as sports tournaments, recitals and plays. A great thing about this is that teachers can have the opportunity to join in and have fun with their teachers for the day.

Teacher appreciation week can also be seen as a learning curve for both teachers and students. Students can use this week to learn more about their teachers and teachers can learn from their students. For example they could ask the students to evaluate their teaching methods and see where there is room for improvements.
