The fulminate hepatic failure is defined as when the failure occurs within eight weeks of the onset of the related illness. The late onset hepatic failure, that is also called sub acute fulminate hepatic failure, is when there has been a gap of eight to twenty six weeks. Also the difference may not be immediately obvious as the underlying disease may have been even present for a long time but remains undiagnosed. If the latent period is over six months it is known as chronic decompensate hepatic failure.
The "Hyper acute" liver failure is also said to be present if this interval is ranging from 7 days or less, while the "sub acute" liver failure is also said to be present if the interval is around 5-12 weeks.
Some symptoms
The patients with mild liver disease may have a few or no symptoms or signs. As patients with more serious disease can develop symptoms and signs that may be nonspecific or even specific. The nonspecific symptoms, that is, the symptoms that don't suggest that the liver is their cause, include the following:
* Weakness
* Fatigue
Also cancer in the liver may be the primary or secondary, it is also called met static. The primary cancer arises just within the liver and in its early stages are exists only within the liver. So people who have hepatitis B or C, and viral infections of the liver, or cirrhosis of the liver are more likely than the other people to develop the primary liver cancer. Also an early stage of primary liver cancer may cause no symptoms at all. And more advanced disease may cause weight loss, loss of appetite, fever, and more weakness.
Treatment
If the disease detected early enough, the acute liver failure caused by an overdose of the acetaminophen can sometimes be treated easily and its effects almost reversed. So likewise, if a virus causes the liver failure, then supportive care can be given at a hospital to treat the related symptoms until the virus runs its full course. In most of these cases the liver will sometimes recover on its own very soon.
Consider if your body mass index is above 25, then a diet and exercise program may reduce the amount of the accumulated fat in your liver and body. So the most effective diet is rich in fiber and low in calories and saturated fat, with total fat accounting for no more than 25-30 percent of the total calories. But just go very slowly. Also aim to lose ten percent of your body weight over five months, it is because rapid weight loss may lead to a very worsening of liver disease and near about it. So even if you aren't overweight or obese, still a healthy diet and the various daily physical activities may reduce inflammation, also lower elevated levels of liver enzymes and help decrease insulin resistance.
