There are significant links between stress and blood pressure. Being stressed leads to many problems and blood pressure is one of them. If you are suffering from high blood pressure then your knowledge about stress can make relevant differences in your cardiovascular health.
Physical response of body towards different events includes secretion of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Due to these hormones blood pressure causes your heart to beat faster and also blood vessels to constrict.

Stress occurs on account of many reasons like problems in adjustment between office and home and overload of work. If it persists for a long term then it is disastrous for health as it increases blood pressure . Once stress is relieved body pressure returns to its normal stage. Temporary spike in blood pressure may result in damaging your blood vessels, kidneys and heart. Upon that if you react to stress by smoking and drinking alcohol then your problem of blood pressure can become worse. If this combination persists together for long period of time then it increases your risk of stroke and heart attack.

You can fight against stress and blood pressure if you know how to manage your routine activities. Proper balance between daily activities provides you peace of mind and thus reduces stress leading to normal blood pressure. Here are below mentioned some ways to manage stress and blood pressure:

• You should make flexible schedule of routine activities. Take out some time for rest and pursue your hobbies as it will bring satisfaction and peace to your mind and body.

• Being consistently busy in work exhausts body and mind resulting in stress and blood pressure in people. Hence schedule your time flexibly and follow it sincerely.

• Whenever you feel stress then relax and take high and deep breathe. It will relieve down your stress and blood pressure also gets normal with it.

• Consult your doctor for exercises which are beneficial in relieving stress and also keeps your blood pressure normal. Physical activities are a natural stress buster.

• Talk to friends, spouse or any close one if you are feeling anxious or worried.

• Take enough sleep.

• Eat healthy and avoid any indulgence in alcohol, drugs or smoking.
