Whenever you open your Microsoft Access database, a LDB (Locking Database) file is automatically created in the same directory. The file is primarily used by Jet Database engine to prevent database users from writing data on pages that are locked by any other database user. LDB file gets deleted when the user quits from the database. While the LDB file is automatically deleted in most cases after database shutdown, it exists in case your Access database is corrupted or damaged.
