At a time when parents are becoming more concerned about online child safety one group is doing something about it and providing a safe chate alternative for kids.

According to a study funded by the Government of Canada, the majority of young Canadians have integrated the Net into mainstream activities.

At the same time offensive content, risky situations, privacy concerns, and authenticating online information, raise serious questions about how to provide them with the tools they need to wisely navigate the Net.

Young people report the most common household rules for Internet use relate to meeting online acquaintances in person. Yet, 87% of students say they are not supervised by a parent when they go online.

Almost one-third say they would give their real name and address to sign up for free email and one third report they would give their email address in a chat room.

Of those who say they have been sexually harassed, 70% report being harassed over the Internet.
