Security Surveillance Systems For Peace of Mind

I never considered myself an anxious person but when I experienced an unusual noise outside while home alone at night last week, my heart started beating rapidly and my anxiety level went out of control. I was afraid and if it wasn’t for my security surveillance system, I don’t know what I would have done.

It certainly gave me peace of mind that night! My mind was racing as to all the “things” that could be going on and of course, an assailant was top on the list. What was happening to my safety?

It all started last week when my husband had a fishing banquet to attend and I decided to stay home and get some needed paperwork done. I was sitting on the couch with the television on. Paperwork was scattered all over my lap and couch and I was deep into my work. The dog was napping on the floor and all was peaceful or so I thought. Suddenly, There was a loud sound as if someone was trying to push in the door. Both myself and the dog startled and of course he began a steady barking. Was someone out there? Was someone trying to break in? What should I do first? Thoughts just flooded my mind.

Then I thought to go to my security screen and view the area outside at the same time grabbing the phone to call 911 and my husband in that order. As I looked I could visualize the side door to our alcove clearly and I saw what I thought could have been the problem. It seemed that the ladder that was leaning on the garage wall fell over and in doing so, it pushed into the plastic garbage can with wheels which rolled right into the side door. It was probably a domino effect, but I wasn’t supposing or taking chances. I kept all the doors locked until law enforcement could arrive and check the premises, but I was able to keep an eye on the area from the inside and greatly relieve my fears.

Arriving shortly thereafter 2 officers searched the perimeters of our home and confirmed that the scenario I stated above was the most obvious answer to what cause the noise and commotion. By this time, I was thoroughly at peace as I had been able to monitor my safety the whole time to ensure I was in no immediate danger. After getting the all clear, the officers assured me they were glad I called and they could be of service. Feeling at ease, I returned to the sofa and resumed working on my paperwork which was now even more behind schedule; the dog returned to his place on the floor to resume his nap. When my husband came home about 30 minutes later, he was relieved to see us safe and secure.

I’ve thought a lot about that night since then and realize how important a security surveillance system can be for any type of danger. It not only assured me that I was not in immediate danger, but it allowed me to monitor what exactly was going on, on the other side of the door, so that if I did need to defend myself against an intruder, I would be prepared. I don’t know what I would have done without my security surveillance system, and I know that it will always be a must in
