SD/MMC Camera is not Recognized in Mac iPhoto or Image Capture

Some Macintosh computer systems support using a digital camera using SD/MMC card in two modes: 'Digital Camera' mode and 'Disk Drive' mode.

At times, when try to use the camera using SD/MMC card in 'Digital Camera', it is not recognized by iPhoto or Image Capture. To solve such behavior, you might need to reformat the digital SD/MMC card and use backup to restore the lost files.
