Last Sunday NASCAR suspended Robby Gordon for the Nextel Cup race due to the incident at the Busch Series race in Canada where he knocked Marcos Ambrose out of the race.

Last Sunday NASCAR suspended Robby Gordon for the Nextel Cup race due to the incident at the Busch Series race in Canada where he knocked Marcos Ambrose out of the race.

NASCAR ordered the race positions on Saturday but Gordon was not according with his position and then refused to pull off the track as ordered. "It certainly is way over the line when it comes to conduct on the track and doing what is expected of the driver to keep the event orderly," said NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp.

Due to Gordon's misconduct, NASCAR will give to him a disciplinary action and will determinate his status for the race at Wilkins Glen this week. "The way he performed and his actions on the track, in our mind, certainly disrupted the conduct of that event," Tharp said. "We're not going to permit that, we're not going to allow that. It's way over the line when it comes to conduct to on the track."

Although Gordon crossed the finish line first, he did not win the race due to his disqualification that put him in place 18 based on the amount of laps he completed.

At the end of the race, Gordon celebrated his loss pumping his fist at the same time that Kevin Harvick celebrated his triumph.
