Microsoft ActiveSync is a software designed to synchronize data, including documents, contacts, calendars, and emails between Windows operating system and portable devices supporting the ActiveSync protocol. The PC synchronization option of ActiveSync allows you to synchronize even MS Outlook data such as emails, calendars, contacts, tasks, notes etc. These items are stored in *.pst file. Therefore, any changes or damages in the file reflect during synchronization process. If you find some of your Outlook items creating issues while synchronization, it could be due to corruption in PST (Personal Folders File) , for which Outlook PST Repair is required.

As an instance of such problems, suppose you try to synchronize MS Outlook items using ActiveSync with our device. All Outlook items successfully synchronize, except of notes. Additionally, you receive an error message as stated below:

Solution

If you can open the PST, it is suggested to copy all its data to a new file. For this, you can apply these measures:

1-Create a new *.pst file and import all the data from affected *.pst to this new file
2-Create a new Outlook profile, which creates a new *.pst file automatically. Make sure you don't associate any email account with this profile and then, use ActiveSync to synchronize Outlook with the same device. You can then associate the desired email account and import data to this new *.pst file. You should later delete the notes if you find synchronization unsuccessful even after importing them.

If PST is not accessible, though the odds are minor, you should perform Outlook PST Repair operations using any of these solutions:

1-Run Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) for the corrupted PST.
2-Use a third-party PST Repair software to scan and restore the corrupted PST.
