In Cached Exchange Mode of Microsoft Exchange Server, a copy of your mailbox is stored on the hard drive in the form of OST (Offline Storage) file. The file is automatically converted from OST to PST and updated upon synchronization, when you connect to Exchange Server. However, sometimes an file can not be converted due to synchronization issues, and this prevents you from connecting to Exchange Server. After this problem, conversion process fails and file can not be updated.

In a practical instance of synchronization issues, the below error message appears when you attempt to synchronize all the folders of the OST file:

“Synchronization with the offline folder file could not be completed.
Consult the synchronization log in the deleted items folder for details.”

You see the below entries in Synchronization log:

“11:43:26 Synchronizing Organization Forms
11:43:27 Error synchronizing folder
11:43:27 [8004010F-501-0-521]
11:43:27 The client operation failed.
11:43:27 Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
11:43:27 Done”

You may also see the underwritten MAPI code for same issue:

“8:20:20 Synchronizing Organization Forms
Error synchronizing folder
8:20:25 [80004005-507-0-522]
8:20:25 The contents of this public folder are currently
unavailable. Either the Microsoft Exchange Server computer servicing this public folder is down or the public folder has not been replicated to this site. See your administrator.”

Cause

The problem may take place if:

1)Exchange Server is crashed or down.
2)Organizational Forms Library is deleted and then re-created after it is synchronized by OST file.
3)Copy of original Organizational Forms Library is removed from public folder on Exchange Server computer, which you are trying to synchronize with.
4)Eforms Registry system folder is unavailable. It may be unavailable if, the first Exchange computer was removed from the site without following the right process.

In all such cases, you need to re-create user profiles or mailboxes on Exchange Server. After creation of a new mailbox, you need to attach a file in PST format. For this purpose, Convert OST file manually using a third-party applications.

These Convert OST to PST applications effectively perform conversions using advanced algorithms. After conversion, a PST file can be directly used with Microsoft Outlook. They enable you to Convert OST file objects in a safe and easy manner.
