The 24-year-old will now earn the amount of $2.75 million for the upcoming season, $3.25 million for the 2008-09 season and $3.5 million in the 2009-10 season, which will give him an annual average of $3.16 million, a huge variation from the $925,000 he made last season and will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the contract. With that amount of money coming his way Emery was more than happy.

Bryan Murray, general manager for the Senators, was relieved to have settled a deal with Emery and is very pleased to have him around for three more seasons feeling that Emery still has a lot to prove. Murray has also made a deal with Christopher Schubert and now hopes to do the same with Chris Kelly. Hopefully the team will be more than ready before the start of the next season.

Emery led the Senators to a berth in the Stanley Cup Finals in the 2006-2007 NHL season and is very content that this whole ordeal is finally over. He also stated his comfort in playing for the Senators as well getting along good with teammates and now wishes to continue to grow as a professional and give Ottawa fans something to be proud of.
