There is a simple reason that the most reliable horse tips come from professional punters and tipsters. It is their job to win! It may be a simple statement, but the professional punter and tipster takes his work very seriously. He has also spent years refining his form analysis, establishing reliable contacts and is devoid of emotion. His race tips are not made based on a hunch or rumour. In fact the race tips are derived from hours of research and analysis. After years of experience the tipster understands how to read and understand form, to watch races, video replays and the preparation a horse requires to be competitive.

Each Race tipsters or professional may have their own way to interpret the information about horses in a specific race, but most always take the following information into consideration when determining who the horses are that have the greatest winning chance.

FORM: Is the horse fit? What has been the horses preparation and its lead-up races to today’s race?

ABILITY: Eliminate those horses that do not have the ability to be within 2-3 lengths of the winner, how fast and what distance have the horses previously competed successfully in.

CLASS: Similar to ability we look at horses that are either stepping up in class or coming down in class. When a horse is stepping up in class it is necessary to determine why the horse is doing this. It may have earned the right to do this because of an impressive previous race result. However, we need to look at the circumstances in its previous starts-did the horse benefit from an easy run race, was there track bias, or was the horse simply competing against an inferior field.

RACE CONDITIONS: Does the race distance, track conditions and surface suit the horse?

CONNECTIONS: Great Jockeys and trainers win races. You must respect the experience and knowledge of experienced Jockeys and Trainers. This is not to say other connections chances are at a disadvantage, but credence has to be given to inform jockeys and trainers.
