What sets the successful article writers apart in article writing is that they have process and outline templates which could be applied immediately when they start writing on a subject matter.

The Critical Functions of the Pre-created Outline.
Step one to successful article writing is to create an outline. Creating an outline for all your articles forces you to think in a structure approach and greatly helps in your writing. It gives you an idea of how to approach a topic, laying out your thoughts in a step by step way. With an pre created outline your writing task is easier, saves more time and helps you avoid procrastination.

An outline acts as the design or blueprint for your article. The structure will guide you in creating the introduction, body and conclusion of your article. Within each heading and subheads, you can then fill in you ideas and sentences.

A carefully planned outline ensures a problem free procedure that can virtually go without hassle. More importantly, creating an outline for your articles helps your thoughts flow better and breeze through writing an article in no time at all, hence an important time saver for the busy writer.

Different Outlines for Different Types of Articles

There are many types are outlines you could adopt and in this series of Article Marketing, I shall share some of the proven, most successful article outlines suitable for different types of articles. There are many types of article outline approaches you could adopt, but generally 3 key types, namely the “How to”, the Glossary pager, the List.

How To Work Your Article Outline

Do some brainstorming and jot down your ideas. Do online research on your topic. Designate a time frame where you can write down all the ideas that you can use for your articles. By this time you should have done all your research and information searching.

You ideas should include approaches or tone which will attract the interest of your reader. Review and reread your ideas and notes, gain mastery and sufficient familiarity with your topic so that writing them down later own would be easy for you. This starts you off with an introduction.

The next step is to layout your new found research information into sub topic and sub titles. As you get on to the writing, after having created you attention grabbing subhead, you would start creating your prose for 3 to 4 sub topics. To be thorough, you would need to get all the facts that will support and counter your perspective. This helps you to see both perspectives and even present both perspectives if you are inclined to.

These are the frames or skeleton of your article, now its time to add the flesh and the meat of your article. You will need to connect all your paragraphs and sub topics. This will form the body of your article. While the introduction will usher in the ideas of your paragraph, you need a conclusion too. The conclusion will wrap up your points and drive in what you are saying in your article.

And no, you are not finished with your article yet. Reread and reread what you have written down. Always refer to your outline so that you do not drift too far away from your key themes.

Essentially, trust and rely on your outline because this will prove to be a very helpful tool in writing all of your articles.
