As your business grows, you cannot simply rely on your old business cards to do the promotion for you. People will get tired of your old card, and eventually throw it away. Your goal is to stay in front of your customer’s mind so you need to give then a reason to keep your card, in this case your new design.

In essence, your business cards are more than your contact card. They are the single most important tool that will help give your prospects a good impression of you. And because first impression is important in generating a positive response, your card will make sure that you achieve that effortlessly.

Here are ways to make your cards work hard and effectively to your business:

Consider using bullets for your messages and tag lines to ensure your card is able t communicate your idea effectively.

Have your cards printed professionally. Although there are business card templates you can use to create your design, a professionally printed card is always best. With a professional card, you can be sure to convey a professional and credible image to your prospects.

Whenever there are changes in the details in your card, do not cross out the old information and write over it the new detail. This will only make you look unreliable in front of your prospects.

Keep in mind that readable cards give you the best image. So, make sure to use simple fonts, words, and the right colors.

Make use of the back side of your card. You can put additional information on it such as a calendar, store hours, a map, emergency numbers, and many others. This will ensure that your prospects will hold on to your card.

Do not use a font smaller than 8-10 point as this will be hard for your prospects to read. Likewise, avoid ultra stylish and fancy font as they are hard to read as well. Just stick with the simple font to deliver your message effectively.

You can consider putting your picture in your card to put a face to your name and build professional relationships. This will make it easy for your prospects to remember and recognize you. Keep in mind that trust is important n business, and giving your business a face can help you achieve this.

Do not forget to put your logo to foster recognition. But be sure that you logo is designed effectively.

Never hand out a card that is worn or damaged. Use a card holder to keep your cards in pristine condition.

Keep the cards you have received in a holder. This will show the person that you value their card and do the same to your card.

Do not leave your home without your card. Be sure to leave a good supply in your car, wallet, or briefcase. You never know where you will meet a potential customer. It helps to have a card handy all the time.

Include a card in your letters, bill payments, brochure, and in any package you ship.

You can use your card as a gift tag.

You can consider giving two or more cards to people in case they know someone who is in need of your products or services.
