Printing companies are going green.

Printing companies have come to realize that they contribute largely on the harmful pollutions in our world today and because of this, some of them are slowly being eco-friendly rather than contributors to the harmful elements in our environment today.

Printing houses are known to produce volatile organic compounds which are caused mostly of adhesives, inks, laminates and varnishes. When these elements become part of the air we breathe, it gives us certain risks that can easily take its toll on our bodies. Though there are some rules and regulations that all these printing companies follow in order for them to operate, these measures are still not enough to make our environment a better place to live in.

What Companies Could Do

There are a number of printing companies that have gone the extra mile to help in making our mother earth a “greener’ place. They have done the following to help save the earth.

1. Wind Power
Printing companies are known to be the fourth when it comes to the list of companies that manufactures the most amount of energy thus they contribute greatly to air pollution and global warming. Through wind power, companies could create a healthier environment by reducing the nitrogen, mercury and carbon dioxide that is being emitted with the use of typical energy. Wind power also produces no byproducts that would contribute to global warming but it on the other hand lessens carbon dioxide. Some printing companies are using 100% wind power which not only helps in our environment but also gives the companies lesser electricity costs.

2. Planning Jobs
This is one simple step that could probably a really long way not only for your company but most importantly to our environment. What printing companies do here is plan their job orders very well thus minimizing the use of electricity. This works for the environment because it would mean less harmful byproducts at the same time it would work for the printing companies and its clients as it would give them lower printing costs. Printing companies have leaned to maximize their materials because this would also mean less waste. Though you may think that this is only a simple step, you would be surprised to know that it would also work for your company in the long run. This means that while you are saving the earth, you would also be doing well for your company.

3. Right Paper
Printing companies must only get their papers from those producers that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) because doing so would mean that the paper comes from a well-managed forest that adhere to the strict environmental standards that we have. This means that the trees used in producing papers would be changed with new ones. This also means recycling whenever the need permits.

Printing companies have been doing their part in making this place a better place to live in, now is the time to do your own part in making your world greener.
