Being convincing is what a persuasive essay calls for. A persuasive essay can also be called an argument essay. This type of essay should have clear logic and clear reasoning to make its reader believe and be persuaded to what it wants to prove. This should contain valid and reliable information that would make it more convincing and at the end of the day make its reader believe in it. Quoting some experts can also be done in order to make the essay more reliable and as well as believable.

By having a persuasive essay you need to have supports to your arguments like facts, statistics, quotations, and examples. Facts are powerful ways of making a person believe in you because facts are proven thoughts by either scientific or social researches, and have been stated as something real. Statistics are numerical data gathered through research, these are also proven reliable especially if the researchers are those who have already a reputable name. Quotations are those who have been said by people who are considered to be the experts in their own field, they might not be proven but if it said by them, it makes the statement credible enough because of these people’s experiences. Examples make your arguments stronger because these are real life situations that the readers themselves have realized and may relate to.

There are several steps in writing a persuasive essay, they are not really required to be followed but are highly encouraged to do so. First is to choose your position and stick to it until the last paragraph of your essay, inconsistency may decrease the believability of your essay. Analyze the people who will read your essay, have an attack that will surely fire into them. It is not all about logic, you should have at least researched well on your topic to provide supporting elements as mentioned in the above paragraph. And last tip is to have your essay structured in a way that the arguments are arranged either top-down or bottom-up, to make people organized in reading your essay. Just remember that you need to consider your readers, your topic and of course your position.

What you need to remember is to reiterate your position until the last paragraph. Learn to concede on weak points but make sure you try to make good points shine. Have your arguments logical and reasonable, with those tips given. It is sure you will have an effective persuasive essay.
