Wedding planning is stressful and one of the secrets to ensuring it is a success is properplanning, there are a lot of tips and articles on ensuring the wedding itself is a triumph, but there are less concerned withtheafter wedding party celebrations.

I hope that this will prove of use to some of you with you own Party planning, it does not matter if you are planning the society wedding party of the year or just a small gathering for friends some basic guidelines will apply, follow these and the after wedding party will go as smoothly as you wish.

Theses tipscould seem like they are what you already know and you would never in a month of Sundays forget to do them but when you are under pressure to do everything for the big day it is worrying how much can be missed.

We have all heard the story of a bride and groom who arrived at the church to find another bride and groom getting married, it turns out that they had not booked the church, everyone assumed it had been done and no one did it

So the first very basic but often missed point and possibly the best piece of advice I would recommend you take from reading this it is my number one in any list of planning tips.

Please write a list – and always keep it with you ensure you add to it when you think of anything you need to do, ensure you add to it immediately, do not put it off or you might forget, ensure your list is up to date and detailed.

Ensure you have a date set, a little obvious you might think but you must have a date set before you begin contacting reception locations, they will expect exact details so they can let you know what dates are still open, most places you are able to hold receptions at will be booked up in advance and may not take your enquiry seriously if you are not clear in your own mind as to the details.

Another thing to consider when considering the date is cost, some venues can put the prices up in the summer months, when there are more customers after fewer venues. Photographers, caterers, dress shops and marquee hire may all put their prices up too at this time. This can work for you if you are able to get married in the early part of the year as there can be some big incentives to be had, also some venues offer discounts for wedding parties held on days other than Saturday.

Budget setting can not be over emphasised, you need to set one and stick to it, it must be as detailed as you can make it, you should add in 10% for unexpected surprises, you need your wedding party to be special but you could not be happy if you spend the first five years of your new life trying to pay off a wedding party you did not budget for.

The various companies you contact from marquee hire companies and wedding party venues to photographer and caterer are going to whant to know what budget they have to work to, the more realistic it is the easier you will find things flow.
