The chord symbol can be read very easily for the modern music. It is written with the four card parts and it functions as a type of shorthand for changing the heavy music. The root symbol of the chord informs the musician about the root note of the chord. To quote an example, in E6 chord, E is the root and in C7, C is the root. It is quite easy to understand the concept.

The quality of the chord denotes about the type of chord like minor, major, augmented or diminished. For example, Cmaj7 indicates that C chord is the major. The abbreviations used in these chord symbols to denote the above said concepts are min, maj, aug and dim. In the case of Cm, C means the minor chord. The symbol in the notes will give particular instruction for the musician to play and in some cases it will be irregular. The instructions in these notes are parentheses written.
