Parramatta is a city which makes for the suburbs of Australia. It is a land which offers it all for its visitors ranging from churches, bridges, historical landmarks, parks to shopping districts.

Parramatta is the major urban center of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is the commercial hub of Sydney’s blossoming western suburbs. Spread over 650,000 square meters of land Parramatta is located 14 miles west of Sydney Business District. Being the sixth largest business district in Australia it is also known to house the most significant changes in the whole of Australia. It was on November 2nd1788 that Captain Arthur Phillip originally found Parramatta which also became the population center of Sydney.

It has also been a witness to the consolidation of its role as a government center with New South Wales headquarters and Sydney Water from the Sydney CBD. Parramatta is the Australia’s second oldest settlement with first being Sydney whichis why many call it the cradle city. This name also signifies the areas efforts in offering significant farming contribution to feed the whole of the country.

Parramatta city is a land with approximately 18000 people with most of the residents being born overseas. To tender more on stats about 14.1% of the total residents are from India followed by 12.8% from China. This automatically makes English, Hindi, mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic and Gujaratin being the most common languages of the city.

Parramatta is also well known for its historic colonial buildings, exceptionalrestaurants as well as for being a shopper’s paradise. The city is a house to various departmental shops, boutiques, other stores with more than 600 retail shops which add to make anyone a shopaholic.

The city also boosts about the historical heritage starting from Charles Street Wharf, Parramatta Park, Elizabeth Farm, Experimental Farm, Old Government House Parramatta, and many others. As the city lies on the banks of Parramatta river it adds to the scenic beauty of the place.

Weather wise Parramatta is warmer and drier than Sydney as the coastal showers do not penetrate in the interiors, which is why during summers the temperature reaches 40 degrees with quite cool winters. No matter which part of the year one visits Parramatta has a lot to offer in terms of elegant parks, vibrant multicultural community, heritage, shopping zones and much more.
