As a consumer you will see that a lot of the suppliers also offer cash back deals for signing to a online tariff. Note that you will only get the cash back once you have been with the company/ supplier for a period of time on the Direct Debit. When suppliers market these kinds of deals they are not making the consumer aware of this and you as a consumer only find this out when you sign up. So make sure you always read the small print.

Also be aware of the various different comparison websites that are advertising; some companies sponsors various different sites to make sure that their tariffs come higher than others. Don’t get me wrong; comparison sites are the way forward in order to save money and finding the best deal. Make sure any comparison site that you use is a specialist in what they offer. You will find that specialist websites are the ones who are 100% impartial when it comes to giving prices. This is due to the fact that the specialist websites are signed up with all the suppliers and it makes no difference who you sign with as they as a company gets paid the same amount for your purchase.
