Having personal notepads is great right? Whether you will use it for your business or practice, or even for your own personal use it is a nice tool to have for your notes, letters and memorandums. However, before you go start investing in notepad printing; it is first good to know the mistakes that you should avoid in printing them. Notepads may seem simple enough to design and print, but there are a few factors that you need to know about lest you create notepads that cannot be used properly, or can deteriorate early on.

1. Too many elements
Some people can really get carried away with their personal notepads. They put in their name, the company logo, some creative accents contact numbers, watermarks, borders, footers etc. Some may even put their own images and other clip-arts to add that extra personal touch. While all of this may sound nice, it actually clutters up a notepad design. So you should really avoid it. Notepads are meant to be written upon and not just read. So make space and do not include too many elements.

2. Color use
Another thing that you should avoid is having too loud and distracting colors. Now, you may think that a personal notepad should project your personality (which is actually true), but you must also take into consideration the people who will read your notes in your notepads. If you place in colors like neon colors and bright colors, some people might actually get distracted by them. Some might not even take the note seriously since it will look like a festive advertising notepad rather than a personal communiqué. So choose your colors wisely and use something that can appeal to all.

3. Proper adhesives
Also, to protect the integrity of your notepads, always choose high quality adhesives for your notes. If you use your run of the mill standard adhesives, there is the possibility that the notepad can deteriorate early on before you even get to use all of its pages. One of the best things that you can use today is those paper integrated adhesives like the ones used in post-it notes. Since adhesives like that are integrated in the paper itself, you should have no trouble with them.

4. Correct sizes
Lastly, many people make the mistake in printing personal notepads of the wrong size. Some print too large that they are only really useful for printed letters and notes, while others may seem too small that you cannot fit anything important in them. The key in deciding the correct size is basically to decide early on the primary use of your personal notepad. Is it for official notes, or is it just for casual reminders? Will you place them in printers, or will you use it mainly with pens. Once you know the main use of the notepads, you can pretty much decide on what size you may need for them.
