Imagine how many additional calories you would burn in a day if you were to burn an extra calorie a minute. Doesn't that sound like a lot more fun than only burning additional calories for the duration of your workout? Good, I have your attention.
So, what exactly do you need to do to have these results? It's called High Intensity Interval Training. Basically what you will do is perform a physical activity, such as sprinting in this example, and do it at 90-95% of your max heart rate. Do this for about 15-20 seconds and then slow your pace for a minute. Then do it again. Do about 15 total short sprints, cool down, stretch and walk away you are done.
That's not so bad is it? Try it, you will see why so many people will avoid doing this. It is hard, you will have to push yourself, but you will get in the shape that you want fast. In fact, a study at Laval University showed that this training method made their trainees lose 9x more fat than those who did traditional cardio (20-60 minutes of moderate cardio). You can even combine this method with weight training to super-turbo charge your metabolism!
Remember, when you are going to exercise to lose weight, perform HIIT (high intensity interval training). You will burn more total calories and even boost your growth hormone levels (ever wonder why sprinters are so buff compared to marathon runners? They both run.). Most importantly, your metabolism will be elevated throughout the rest of the day.
